Cranial Osteopathy
What is Cranial
Osteopathy?
Cranial osteopathy is a gentle osteopathic approach, using a highly developed sense of touch to feel subtle changes in the body. Treatment usually focuses on, but is not limited to, the
cranium and
sacrum with the aim of releasing tensions and restrictions in the body to optimise health and well-being. The approach is often used for treatment of
babies, children and
women pre- and postnatal.
What does the treatment feel like?
Understandably, it can be nerve wracking having your first osteopathic consultation, particularly when it is for your little one. The examination and treatment are very gentle. Only mild tension may be experienced during treatment which gradually disappears and most people report that the treatment is very relaxing.
What can Cranial Osteopathy help?
The aim of Cranial Osteopathy is to support the re-balancing or release of areas of dysfunction within the body; your own self-healing mechanism can do the rest. It aims to improve symptoms for non-medical related problems in babies, children and adults, and to help the body to feel more comfortable in daily life.
