Nerve Pain

The nervous system is very complex but can be divided into two;

  1. Central nervous system. The brain and the spinal cord.
  2. Peripheral nervous system. The PNS connects the central nervous system (CNS) to the limbs and organs, essentially serving as a communication relay between the brain and the extremities.

Here we will explore three types of nerve problems we commonly see in clinic.

  1. Neuralgia pain arising from damage to a peripheral nerve
  2. Referred pain a complex interaction between the CNS and the PNS
  3. Disc injury which can cause direct damage to either the CNS or PNS
