Nerve Pain
The nervous system is very complex but can be divided into two;
- Central nervous system. The brain and the spinal cord.
- Peripheral nervous system. The PNS connects the central nervous system (CNS) to the limbs and organs, essentially serving as a communication relay between the brain and the extremities.
Here we will explore three types of nerve problems we commonly see in clinic.
- Neuralgia pain arising from damage to a peripheral nerve
- Referred pain a complex interaction between the CNS and the PNS
- Disc injury which can cause direct damage to either the CNS or PNS
