"Ain't no mountain high enough.." Challenge Kilimanjaro

Monday September 25, 2017 at 9:30pm

"I have taken on the challenge to raise funds for the Myton Hospices by climbing Kilimanjaro, the biggest freestanding mountain at 5,895 metres. Starting the ascent on Monday 25th Sep I will climb for six days through five climatic zones from tropical cloud forest at the base, to barren windswept desert, glaciers and thin air to reach the summit of the roof of Africa.

This will be such an amazing experience that I don't think any training can fully prepare me for and Rugby Osteopathic Centre has helped sort out my aches and pains through the year as I have been preparing. I have also made a whole set of new friends I shall be climbing with, all with the same aims of achieving an ambition and raising funds to support the Myton Hospices. There are three Hospices in Rugby, Coventry and Warwick and they need to raise £8.8 million per year to care for anyone with terminal illness and support their families.

You can help support my charity via my Just Giving page.

After months of waiting, vaccinations, and collecting bits of kit I just need to pack tomorrow then an early night for an early flight to Tanzania.

Thank you so much and with best regards,

Judith Harper"

We at the Rugby Osteopathic Centre are wishing Judith all the best in her amazing challenge and fund raising. If you would like to share your challenges, charity events or achievements with us please be in contact.

Thank you so much to Rugby Osteopathic Centre for your support. It was a very challenging climb but an experience that I shall never forget. Absolutely no back problems despite camping and carrying a backpack each day - but not on my head as per the porters!Judith
